(1916-1981)

Born 1916 in Cracow, Poland, and immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1935. Joined the Irgun and took part in reprisals against the Arabs. In the same period, completed his studies at the Technion as a construction engineer.

In 1940 was commander of the Betar branch in Haifa. In early 1944 was transferred to Tel Aviv and at the end of the year, was appointed member of the General Headquarters.

In 1947 represented the Irgun, together with Begin and Katz, at a meeting with the UNSCOP commission.

Was among the founders of the Herut movement, and was a member of the First to the Ninth Knessets.

Was Minister of Development in 1967-1970 and Minister of Transport 1977-1981.
