Joined the Irgun, together with two of his brothers, and was sent in 1939 for three months military training to Poland.
During the Revolt, served as Commander of Haifa and Northern District, where he was arrested by the British and exiled to Africa. Took part in several escape attempts, which were unsuccessful.
Returned with the last exiles from Kenya on July 12, 1948, after the State of Israel was established.
